Harvest Kitchen Re-Envisions Local Foods Cafe in Pawtucket
Our newly realized vision for the Harvest Kitchen Café (now no longer a corner store) expands on our current line of youth-made jarred products to offer an extensive menu of freshly made dishes that appeal to an even wider variety of customers while supporting even more farmers and small food producers in our region.
Harvest Kitchen: Changing Lives, One Apple at a Time
Meet Harvest Kitchen, Farm Fresh RI’s culinary job training program and local foods café that is transforming lives and our food system. Located in downtown Pawtucket, the front of house is a local foods café. The welcoming space serves affordable, tasty, nutritious, and locally sourced meals. The back of house is a commercial kitchen that houses Harvest Kitchen’s processing operations and job training program designed for underserved teens. Kane’s Kitchen, a Small Batch Salsa Experience
Today, Kane’s Kitchen offers six different flavors for all palates, from sweet to savory to spicy. But the Kane salsa experience began back in 2012 as a Christmas tradition. Harvest Kitchen in Action
Even through the COVID pandemic, in 2021 Harvest Kitchen has been able to continue working with and supporting over 35 youth over the course of four class sessions. Chi Kitchen is a woman-led business that focuses on doing one thing very, very well: fermented kimchi. The business is rooted in family, driven by passion, and guided by its mission to provide healthy, delicious Asian foods in an approachable way. Harvest Kitchen Training and Production Update
We are proud to share that our HK 26 trainees have completed their Food Handlers Certification and are now learning knife skills in the kitchen with Chef Sean and Chef Bernard. At the same time, our team has been working to transform this season’s abundance of local tomatoes into our signature jarred, stewed tomatoes!
