On April 14, our Nutrition Education team had the pleasure of participating in the Providence Children’s Museum Farm Friends event for the second year in a row.
We had a lot of fun with the children and their families who attended — making seed art together, trying samples of our homemade granola (recipe below!), and holding a raffle to guess the number of farms in Rhode Island! (Our winner had the closest guess of 842… but there are more like 1200 across our little state!)
In addition, we got to be with these other local organizations and partake in their fun farm activities:
- Southside Community Land Trust, planting seedlings
- Paine Farm and their baby bunnies, guinea pigs, and chickens!
- Hidden Brook Acres and their adorable Nigerian dwarf goats!
- Christine Sederback, spinning yarn from the fleece of her sheep
