Happy New Year! The first week of January marked the last week with our current session’s morning group — we’re proud of all we’ve accomplished together! Recently, under the direction of our lovely volunteer Barb, our morning students worked together on a “Shark Tank” style food business competition. After two days of thought and animated discussion, a logo was designed, and J-Popz were born. Their secret? All natural ingredients!
Though J-Popz in assorted tropical flavors are currently a student exclusive, check for them in your local park this summer 🙂
Meanwhile, our afternoon group recently split into teams for a friendly competition to create the ultimate restaurant experience. Mi Pueblo Restaurant and Grandpa’s Hood Kitchen will soon face off in an intense show of marketing, cooking, and artistic skills! Which will win: prodigious pasta or stupendous Spanish cuisine? Only the esteemed judges can say for sure! To judge this competition, we are expecting special guests from around the community, as well as a few favorites from within Harvest Kitchen. Stay tuned to learn what happens!
To cap off our start to the new year, we said goodbye to our morning group by inviting all those meaningful to them for a final dinner to congratulate them on a successful internship and their progress over the last 15 weeks. We will miss you “HK23”!
