P&L Bayside Apiary Joins Market Mobile Family

March 7, 2019

Welcome to one of our newest producer partners, P&L Bayside Apiary!
Read this message from our new friends at P&L Bayside Apiary…

We at P&L Bayside Apiary in Barrington are proud to reach wholesale customers through Market Mobile with our delicious honey and bee products. Our owner and operator, Liying Peng, MS, is an experienced, recognized beekeeper and queen breeder in the Southern New England region. She has been featured in various local papers and professional bee magazines, such as American Bee Journal.

As part of the Rhode Island State Queen Grant project, Liying Peng raise bees (nucs) and queens locally in Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts to provide genetically superior and weather-adapted breeds. She has been invited to give lectures and presentations at many local beekeepers association.

We manage more than 80 colonies in Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts. We don’t transport our bees around for commercial pollination, and all our beehives live in either Certified Organic farms or on conservation lands to ensure the best quality food for the bees.

Our honey is all-natural, made proudly in Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts by our own honeybees, and possesses no flavor or color additives of any sort. We focus on producing single-source wildflower honey, which we define as raw honey from one location and one time period. Some of our popular honey crops are privet, linden, and knotweed honey.

  • Privet honey
    COLOR: medium golden amber
    AROMA: bright, intense
FLAVOR: savory notes of sweet fruits, with a slight bitterness kick in the end

  • Linden honey
COLOR: light golden amber with green tint
    AROMA: mild, tropical fruits
FLAVOR: light, delicate hints of unripe fruit, crispy green melon, pineapple, and apricots

  • Knotweed honey
    COLOR: warm golden amber
    AROMA: strong
FLAVOR: rich, floral and butterscotch notes

We also harvest comb honey and pure beeswax. The bees construct hexagonal-shaped cells of beeswax on that foundation and fill each cell with honey. Honeycomb is cut directly from the beehive frame for sale. Rendered from our honeycomb cappings, our pure beeswax is free of chemical residues and is imbued with honey and bee scent perfect for homemade candles, salves, or lotions.
