Alex (they/them) grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, but has grown to call Providence home since studying Community Arts, Health, and Wellbeing at Brown University. Alex has worked with people of all ages leading backpacking trips, coordinating intergenerational community dance classes, and most recently, working with kids to try local produce at farmers markets on Aquidneck Island. They believe local food systems are integral for forming sustainable, happy, and healthy communities and are excited to contribute to this work at farmers markets as part of the Food Access team. When not at work, you’ll find Alex reading too many books at once, biking, finding good trees to sit under, and dreaming up new crafting or baking projects.
