If you’ve been to visit Harvest Kitchen at our Winter Market in Pawtucket recently, you may have noticed some new faces! Frank and Cayne have joined the Harvest Kitchen markets team this month, and we’re so excited to have them.
When they’re not at market, Frank and Cayne hold it down in our Market Mobile “packhouse” (where all of our local wholesale magic happens) and out on our delivery trucks, delivering fresh food from local farms to customers like restaurants, schools, and grocers across Rhode Island and the Boston-metro area.
Over the past weeks, we’ve also had the pleasure of introducing our “HK 23” and “HK 24” classes of youth trainees to our Winter Market table. Each week, students have the chance to rotate through a shift at the market, where they put their customer service skills to use — and practice pitching the value-added products they’ve made in our job readiness and culinary training program for under-served teens involved with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
Next time you’re at the farmers market, we hope you’ll stop by the Harvest Kitchen table and give our new folks a warm welcome!
