Look Who’s Buying & Selling Local Food

September 4, 2019

Here are just a couple of the many wholesale customers who ordered from local farmers, fishers, foragers, ranchers, and food makers through Market Mobile this week!

Stock Culinary Goods
756 Hope St
Providence, RI

We are obsessed with all things food: the cooking, the eating, the talking about, the learning. Relatedly, we sell good things that promote the above. We are so passionate about supporting our local artisans, and boy are we lucky with the range we have in our little state!

Waterman Grille
4 Richmond Square
Providence, RI

Offering a setting that is unlike any other in Providence, Waterman Grille is situated along the Seekonk River in a former bridge gatehouse that dates back to 1871. The creative and uncommon culinary finesse of Waterman Grille’s imaginative menus lie in the talented hands of Executive Chef Noah Metnick. Born in Israel and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America he trained at the exclusive Maidstone Club in East Hampton, NY, and the exquisite La Grenouille in New York City where his diligence and passion for excellence earned him the top spot as the restaurant’s executive chef. Today he delights guests with imaginative small plates and grilled specialties, each influenced by the elegance and art of fine French cuisine and the fresh, local bounty of New England.

What’s Fresh & Local This Week?

This week, we reminded our wholesale buyers about these great local products for sale — just a few among the extensive list of products offered by over 50 local growers and producers through Market Mobile:

Quonset Point Oysters — from American Mussel Harvesters in North Kingstown, RI

  • 3-1/2 – 4″ choice-grade briny oysters
  • The taste is quickly salty yet finishes mild
  • Farmed from Salt Water Farms, a carefully sighted shellfish farm producing a sustainable crop in the East Passage of Narragansett Bay. Tall sets of trays containing the oysters swing in the currents as the virginica oysters filter the lush food supply.

Heirloom White Rutabaga — from Big Train Farm in North Scituate, RI

  • Fresh, GH Rutabagas W/O tops
  • Certified Organic

Mixed Exotic Chili Peppers — from Kitchen Garden Farm in Sunderland, MA

  • Colorful
  • Hot!
  • Certified Organic
