Our RI Farm to School team had so much fun at Springbrook Elementary School on Wednesday! Students tasted a local roasted butternut squash, apple, and potato recipe in their cafeteria — featuring local produce from Confreda Greenhouses & Farms, Lyman Orchards, and Young Farms.
This cafeteria tasting was possible with help from the Rhode Island Healthy Schools Coalition, Westerly Public Schools, and Aramark to train volunteers – Local Food Ambassadors – to conduct local cafeteria tastings to raise awareness of and support farm to school activities within their district!
