What a fun time we had over these last six weeks watching our students learn about different goodies that grow in Rhode Island, and how to cook them! As a core partner with the National Farm to School Network, we work with students across the state to taste local foods and explore tasty ways to prepare them.
We piloted a new after-school cooking series this fall at six different sites across the state. The program concluded with a Jr. Iron Chef Competition where students went head-to-head using local ingredients to create their culinary masterpieces. The winning recipe is set to make an appearance on an upcoming school menu!
