Join Hope’s Harvest for a facilitated discussion group on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at 5:30pm to reflect on the essay The Serviceberry: An Economy of Abundance, by Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of the widely acclaimed book Braiding Sweetgrass.
Before joining us, you’ll receive a link to read along while you listen to Kimmerer narrate her musings on the ethic of reciprocity that lies at the heart of the gift economy. How, she asks, can we learn from Indigenous wisdom and ecological systems to reimagine currencies of exchange?
What you can expect:
⭐️A link to the article in written and audio format (~30 minute read, 45 minute listen)
⭐️Facilitated discussion group centered around the gift economy, reciprocity as opposed to accumulation, and the connections that make us secure
⭐️Berry cocktails!
As per HHRI staff recommendation, is best enjoyed with a recording of song birds chirping in the background. Upon registering, you will receive a berry cocktail recipe (neutral option available) and a link to join our Zoom meeting in the confirmation email.
