Our current training classes are going great! Both our morning and evening sessions have now gone through the phase of curriculum geared around recipe development. They also have competed in a Mystery Basket Cooking Competition — a fun opportunity for students to be creative in the kitchen, as well as an effective way for our chef-educators to check on how well trainees are understanding the various cooking techniques and styles they’ve learned, as well as incorporating their new knowledge about using spices, cooking from the heart, and so on.
Some of the many recipes our inspired students have worked on in the past couple of weeks include:
- Strawberry-Apple Crumble
- S’mores Brownies
- Focaccia Bread
- Heath Bar Cookies
- Pasta with Bolognese Sauce
- Braised Short Ribs
- Shrimp Scampi
- Open-Face Chicken Cordon Bleu

Our trainees are having a great time, and learning a lot while they’re at it. Next up in the kitchen? A baking competition!
