We are so grateful for our ongoing collaboration with the RICFB. Over the past two years, Hope’s Harvest RI has delivered over 100,000 pounds to them. In 2021, we’re proud to say that we’re contracted to deliver over 100,000 lbs of fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables to the Food Bank, which they will then distribute out to their network of member hunger relief agencies. In a small state like Rhode Island, it’s absolutely vital to work together with other organizations towards our common goals of ensuring a consistent supply of healthy food for our neighbors in need.
Governor Dan Mckee has proposed an increase in funding for the Food Bank in this year’s budget. The state allocation would double from $175,000 to $350,000. This investment is in response to the number of Rhode Islanders in need of additional food assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Support this increase by contacting the State of RI General Assembly House of Representatives and the State of RI General Assembly Senate.
