This Tuesday was Bon Appétit Management Company‘s national Eat Local Challenge — challenging school cafeterias across the country to serve an entire meal of foods sourced from within 150 miles. Although Bon Appétit’s teams work with local ingredients every day, crafting a 100% local meal — including the oils, flours, spices, and proteins — takes chefs’ creativity, teamwork, and relationships with local producers to the next level!
We are proud to work with many universities, school districts, and childcare facilities across Rhode Island, offering streamlined ordering from over 100 local farmers and producers! Just in last Thursday’s Market Mobile delivery alone, we sold $11,852.15 on behalf of local farmers and producers to Rhode Island schools in preparation for the challenge!
