A $25 Box of Local Veggies & Fruit (with recipes!) Delivered to You
Veggie Box is a weekly subscription to fresh, local produce from RI and MA farms. Veggie Boxes are delivered directly to workplaces, community centers, schools and daycares around Rhode Island. Since they are sourced through Market Mobile, local origin and a fair price for farms are guaranteed. Every week, participants will receive a newsletter with information about what is their share, recipes suggestions, and stories about the farms. If you love fresh, locally grown foods but don't have the time to pick each item out at the farmers market (and are excited about trying a few new ingredients), this program is for you!

What's in a Winter Veggie Box?
Each week is different but here's a sample of what you might find in your Winter Veggie Box:
Apples • Butternut squash • Carrots • Potatoes • Beets • Cabbage • Onions • Sweet potatoes • Turnips • Parsnips • Microgreen sprouts • Pea greens • Cranberries • and other special items: honey, applesauce, and more!
When and where can I pick up my box?
Your box will arrive on Tuesdays during the day. Your site will arrange a pick-up time and location where participants can receive their pre-packed box of vegetables.
Where does the food come from?
Veggie Box sources from Rhode Island and Massachusetts farms with a variety of growing practices, including organic, chemical free, IPM and conventional. You can find a complete list of participating farms on the left hand sidebar. Your Veggie Box is extremely fresh and supports the local economy. Each week you will receive a newsletter with information about which farm your veggies are from. The food arrives through Farm Fresh RI's Market Mobile distribution program.
How much food will I get each week?
Each box contains 8-10 items, and weighs about 10-15 pounds.
How many people does one Veggie Box feed?
If you or your household really loves fresh, delicious veggies, then this Box will feed 1 to 2 people for a week. If your Veggie Box is acting primarily as a supplement to a grocery trip each week, then the Box may feed up to four or five people.
Do I get a choice of what is in my box?
No. The box is pre-packed, but the contents will change each week as the season changes. Your box may contain items with which you are unfamiliar. We hope this helps introduce you to new vegetables and you enjoy the challenge of finishing them each week.
Can I buy more than one Veggie Box?
Yes, you may buy as many boxes as you’d like!
Can I split a Veggie Box with a co-worker?
Sure! You can feel free to share the price and produce of a Veggie Box with a friend. However, coordination of Box pick-up and splitting is the responsibility of the customer. Please let your site coordinator know if you are splitting a box, to eliminate any confusion on pick-up day.
What do I do if I can’t pick up my Veggie Box?
If you are out of the office and cannot personally receive your box, you have two options. You are welcome to find a friend or colleague to collect your box on your behalf. Simply alert your site coordinator in advance to alert them. If you are unable to have someone else pick up your box, you will forfeit your box. Any leftover food will be donated.
I don't know how to cook the vegetables in my Veggie Box – help!
Each week, we’ll send a newsletter with recipes and ideas for that week’s box. Veggie Box is all about celebrating the season and learning about local produce! This is a great opportunity to experiment with new foods, flavors, dishes, and cooking methods.
